"I don't know"
« on: September 17, 2006, 05:14:02 AM »
Rant part 1:
Yesterday... The most pissed off I have been in the BX in months.
I went in looking for a heating pad, and while it was a bad decision on my part to go into that cursed place on a payday saturday, I was absolutely floored by what happened.
I scoured the aisles where they keep analgesics and the like, and thought maybe housewares would have them. After all, I bought one there a few years back. I headed for the back of the store. Nothing. In search of an associate I go... and I find one, with a hand full of crap (So that I couldn't see but the top corner of her name tag) and ask her where I might find a heating pad.
She looks me up and down once and spits out "I don't know", like I had just inconvenienced her SO very much. Then she walks off.
WTF??!?
Are you kidding me? She needs to lose her job.
The "I don't know" was bad enough... but giving me the once over first? I did talk to a manager about it... (also inquired about the heating pads.)
Rant part 2-
I was informed that AAFES no longer carries such things, as they were being returned by too many customers for them taking them off base and plugging them into the wrong wall sockets. Since they can't be used off base, they don't sell them... ie- stupid customers= no selection. I am quite sure thats the equation I was told. He also spouted something about maybe them being "Seasonal items" and the fire department... (Insert ranting here______)
Then why do you sell any 110 anything, I wonder? For the many many families that live ON base perhaps and have 110? There do seem to be quite a few of us, don't there? And I know of many things that if you plug them into 220 with the little adapter- they will break, burn up or fry in one way or another... But they still carry those items. (Not heating pads. They are seasonal, fire department, returned too much things.)

Here you go again, you make no sense you are so stupid.why dont you bring a problem of a customer like this one to your superiors and maybe come up with a solution instead of asking for more money to build a bigger px.

If AAFES would stop:

• letting their management take TDY "vacations" to all the world's cool spots for conferences
• constantly resetting our facilities
• bringing in merchandise that will not sell
• cutting people which really does adversely affect sales (no associates=no sales of big-ticket items

...then maybe AAFES could serve everyone better. People don't want a bigger PX/BX--they want a PX/BX that is set up to first provide the "need-to-haves" and then bring in the "nice-to-haves" afterwards. It's a shame that AAFES can provide an over-abundance of Coach and Dooney & Burke, but can't keep diapers in stock.

HELLO isn't that the fiasco once called the KMCC????  Oh and remind me again why didn't it open in February, April, June, September of 2007........all dates of proposed opening dates.

We don't need a bigger BX we just need you to keep the current BX STOCKED!!!!

And if you want to hire more employees cut out some of the middle management team which are usually just gophers and kiss asses for the senior management.  Hell I can think of two mangers who you rarely ever see apart.  The junior manager is usually following so close to the senior that if she stops short he'll be right up in her arse.

And speaking of that senior manager the two managers under her can't even wipe their asses without her permission.  She allows them no authority or power to run their own departments so their only function is to be at her call.  So if they cut just these two gophers they could hire 16 employees.  Imagine that!!!!!

As far as not stocking things because they get too many returns that's bullshit.  Because when they get things that are getting returned too often they create an exception rule to their return policy, i.e. ipods--you cannot return them once they have been opened.  My nano stopped working 20 days after I got it and the BX said sorry too bad return it to Apple because we have too many problems with them.

So if they don't stock something because it always get returned then why do they still carry IPODS?  Because the bottom line (The Budget) says IPODS are big money and heating pads are not.

If they would just post random signs in the isles for idiots that don't know the cannot plug a 110 into a 220 that if they do there will be no refund that should cover their asses and allow the rest of us who use our whole brain to purchase what we need.

If you want to be a real prick about this though ask the manger to search other stores inventories for a heating pad and call you when it comes in.  This is actually a service AAFES provides that if they don't have it they will find it and bring it to your local BX for you to pick up.  Now that might not help you immediately but it will be a pain in the arse to them and maybe then they will restock the product in the store.[/quote]

He might well be. That seems to be the norm at AAFES. I cannot begin to tell you how many affairs I have personally seen between management staff (and management/associates, too). AAFES is one of the few places where you can still rise up by getting down.  :o

No chance these two are hooking up in anyway.

He's not her type and she's not his gender preference if you know what I mean. ;)

Try returning an item to Apple without a physical UPS/Fed Ex address. It means bouncing it off of someone in the states. The guy who peddles the iMacs at the PowerZone doesn't know a thing about macs or the OS, either.

As far as checking inventory and having the manager call when it comes in... That is the thing that started this site on a cleaning machine called a "floormate". Took more than 8 months, even though it was on the inventory, and I had an order in, and they had my name and phone number... it took me screaming at someone to finally pick up a phone and CALL- only to find out they had cancelled the orders. As the schmuck here didn't think to pick up a telephone until I got super pissed, I had to wait months and months for something they supposedly stocked.

And the mall is a joke- it will not be open anytime soon, I think. It's a joke, and a way to make sure the gov't gives lots of money to the local nationals employment system.

Disgruntled, those vacations to all the worlds hot spot are paid for by the vendors.  AAFES does not spend its money to send the managers there.

NICE........So basically the managers are vendor whores.   The vendors with the most perks get the most attention and screw the customers.  What's the motto......"Serving the Best".

Some managers retire under suspicious circumstances, wait a year or two and then go to work for those vendors, too.  >:(

But not all those trips are paid for by vendors. I am referring to the trips to the exchanges near resorts or tourist attractions, ostensively to inspect the place. However, you might see them for an hour or so before all of them (including the local managers) disappear to the tourist traps for the day-to "discuss".  ::)
