AAFES in Hawaii
« on: July 23, 2006, 12:34:58 PM »
Gosh...its distressing to see so many concerns voiced as to lack of service and product selection in AAFES. Everyone I work with really does care about our customers and our associates. Hawaii has the highest percentage of volunteers to OIF/OEF in the company. No one here makes any claims to being perfect...but we are always looking for ways to do a better job. Does anyone have any specifics of how we could do better...both for associates..and customers in Hawaii?

Pray for your new GM at Hickam to transfer fast!    ;)  Anytime you get a GM who was previously at HQ, you are in for it!

The new GM is from Headquarters, but has previously been a GM in three assignments. He is very customer oriented and that has been his emphasis so far. I've sat with him at Community meetings already and he was very quick to respond to requests that the particpants asked about. He's treated the staff well and with respect and is very much interested in taking care of customers.

Hmmm...well I can only share with you what I observe and experience, but I'll have to tell you that so far the new GM has been good to all his team and very positive about suggestions and requests from the community. There's no reason for him not be doing so. That's true for most of our Managers and Associates. Its an easy "Golden Rule" to follow...just treat customers the same way you want to be treated when you're a customer.
