AAFES Europe Employees #2

Send your awards back to dallas, and mark them
''Personal For'' General Essex or whomever is in charge.
The awards system is designed to service itself and not
the people that is was originally planned for.
Im sure when the commander gets enough on his
desk piled up, he may begin to recognize a pattern
and do something about it.
Also it is important to send the stupid gift card back as
well. First what good is it if you have to purchase
something.   Next for example the amount of the
award, such as a ten year sevice award is so inconsistent
with what you have given, its an insult, yea fifty lousy
bucks for ten years, that means only five dollars for every
year of your life serving this wonderful instramentality
of the U. S. Government.    Third, managment must
recognize that they need to do more for us, rather than
just consider us ''Personnel Costs'', and sending your
award back will function as a vehicle to get their attention.
One other important thing to always remember is that
you must be truly commited to exercising your right
to effectively demonstrate your values, and show AAFES
leadership both the flaws in their inconsistent core values
and the truth about your needs!!
More to come.

you know I really agree with what you have written. it seems that because we are only "personel costs" that we can't get new employees until those go down.. I am a supervisor completely frustrated with the fact that on a saturday I only have 2 people. not very cool in my line of work.

They will cut personnel down to the quick, then bitch because there is no one to work in the store. Larger stores that cater to retirees are seeing the backlash already. They won't shop where there are three employees in the whole store (a level 1-formerly superstore at that!). Then management will cut MORE people because they are losing money.

And the crock that upper management doesn't get bonuses if the peons don't is just that-a crock! SES level managers don't fall under MBP, so they get paid their COLAs and bonuses no matter what.

BTW, for the HQ lurkers: that letter has gotten out of HQ and is now running wild in the field. Nothing many of us didn't know already, but it was fun to see it in print.

Isn't it funny that AAFES is supposted to save us money. I don't see that at all especially when it comes to GASOLINE. Check this out (We aren't charged tax ) ask why we pay just as much on base as off. AAFES 's makes the money . Shame on them!!!!!
