I complained about this in another thread in short, and as I'm relatively new I just now found this thread here's my beef.
PCS'ing from Germany requires somethings, specifically, a hard travel case for flat screen TVs. German movers are instructed to not touch a TV unless it is in a hard case, no big deal, we were planning to buy one, and had budgeted for the purchase. We walk into the powerzone at Volgelweh and they told us they didn't have any in stock and refused to sell us the display model. Saddened, we leave, a few hours later we realize they sell display models all the time, so we go back with the plan to raise a stink until they give us the display model, when we return, it's GONE. Fair enough, we've been beat, we realize that. We ask them what our options are since TMO arrives in 3 weeks and they told us it would take 4-6 weeks for a special order to come in. They tell us the only case we could fit our TV in is a double case, meant to fit two flatscreen tvs. We tell them we'll take it, knowing the AAFES mentality of "If you don't take your only option you'll be left with none" THEN they try to talk us out of it, saying since we have one tv "that's not the case we want." We asked them what case we want, and like the adage goes, "Ask a stupid question get a stupid answer." They tell us that we want the single case.
At this point I had to let my wife take over, because, I don't do confrontations well, let alone confrontations with idiots, after "negotiating" with the manager for 15 minutes, we tell them we're buying that case and there's really nothing they can do about it.
I suggested that we tell them we'll buy the double case if they throw in an extra TV, but the sarcasm would be lost on them.
I can sorta see that they can't plan for every need of customers, but for real? These things are REQUIRED for PCS'ing from OCONUS to CONUS... Surely they can maintain a steady order for these things!
