AAFES Always Available to Fuck Every Soldier

I'm sorry you feel so negative about AAFES.  I read your rather long entry, but yet could not find a single point that seems to be a legitimate complaint.  You are obviously ticked with AAFES about something, but I'm not sure what it is specifically.  Sometimes those "local national" employees are spouses and ID-card holders.  Of course their are also work agreements between the German and the U.S. that require a certain number of foreign-national employees.

That would be nice - but since we are on their soil, we americans have to have so many Germans employed and they have to make what they would make if they were working in a german store.  They also get to abide by the same rules and regulations that are in place at a regular german store.  I think it back in the day when whatever treaty or what not was signed for us (americans) to bring installations here. 

And yes - it was hard working with them. Seeing how they really do just work by the hour.  Many are rude, they will talk in German amongst eachother and in front of customers...I found that highly offensive - just being a customer.  Dont talk in German when I am there waiting to be rung up!  How do I know if your talking smack??  Ya know what I am getting at?

Regarding the quote above.... if you can't understand the German language and are frustrated to hear local national AAFES employees speaking in their native tongue, then LEARN GERMAN!
I don't work for AAFES, but when I'm in AAFES facilities, commissary, etc., I always speak German to my German wife... because it's no body elses business what I'm saying to my wife -- even if I'm talking about, for example, your ugly hair color.  And since so few Americans make the effort to learn German, I know that whatever I say will unlikely be understood by the Americans around me.... I LOVE IT!

Hey, am in Germany, when I go to the commissary, I hear German and English at the register, and mostly Korean and Filipino from the baggers. Shows you the diversity of being an American.

OK let me think about this a moment. AAFES pays all these fees to send their merchandise half way across the world and by the time it gets to the OCONUS  stores it only has 3 months shelf life, 6 months max. With a large (what you call small) stock assortment you end up throwing away thousands of dollars worth of merchandise away on a monthly basis.

Lets talk about AAFES in the middle east. That operation loses millions a year. Merchandise getting blown up in transit, or just missing. Soldiers robbing AAFES blind in smaller stores that don't yet have cameras.

Hey heres another one in response to the German government is on to the AAFES civilians who have logistical support to stay in country. WE HAVE PASSED MANY BACKGROUND CHECKS, HAVE A TOURIST PASSPORT AND HAVE A SOFA STAMP AND HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO STAY AND LIVE HERE AS THE UNIFORMED MILITARY. GO FULL TIME AND WE GET ALL THE SAME BENEFITS! (except OHA and SEP Rations)
