well, i stumbled on this site after a bad run in at the Misawa BX.. lets say i have an article 121 (larceny) hanging over my head pending investigation by SF for an easy mistake by my wife.... more details in the korea/japan section...

Well don't lump us all in by saying PACAF, I'm part of PACAF too =P  But seriously, you didn't elaborate much my friend.  If your wife stole something - or walked out with a candy bar forgetting to pay for it by accident, whatever - then I guess I'm sorry on behalf of AAFES that the military decided a LONG time ago that you are responsible for the actions of your wife and children on the base?  From what I understand at my BX anyway, before prosecution it has to be proven beyond a doubt that theft was committed, and even then, the MPs have to decide whether or not to take action.

All I can say is WOW.  When I worked at the Shoppette there was an honest mistake - an older lady pumped gas and drove away without paying - but she had previously paid with a check so we were able to get ahold of her husband through the MPs and since it was so obviously an honest mistake (I did vouch for her, because I truly did not believe she meant to pump and drive away) and she immediately returned to pay for the gas, AAFES nor the MPs took any action against her.  What happened to you and your wife was wrong.  Yet again, the company I work for being lame because some associate's have no idea what they're doing... sigh.
