Considering that the LP VP weenie misquoted something I said last year, I have no doubt that the higher-ups at least have someone reading the posts for them.

I'm not sure who the sponsor of this site is, and I'm happy to stroll across it, but I think it's more important to determine if anyone from Congress ever reads this site. AAFES employees always make the mistake of thinking they work for The Exchange Service, when in reality they work for Congress. The Exchange Service exists in it's current corrupt version because too many AAFES associates are afraid to rock the boat. If AAFES associates ever figured out how to collectively complain to the Senate & House Armed Services Committees, their congressman or senator and to flood the labor department and defense hotlines with detailed descriptions of the abuses and theft that occurs against most AAFES associates,.......well it would mean a mass Exodus of the corrupt leadership and philosophy that I've witnessed over and over again in AAFES. You should consider if this site can be harnessed to deliver that information to congress, or even perhaps a data base of aggrieved AAFES associates to a law firm interested in pursuing a class action suit under existing labor law for the theft of millions in overtime from AAFES associates?

Something to consider...

Does Mr. Howard really know what goes on in AAFES around the Colorado Springs area. If he did he would probably be repacing a lot of managers including the GM

Of course not! He lets Karen Stack handle his underlings in Western region. And as long as she gets what she wants, she couldn't care less what the GMs do. I have a friend up there at CS and I've heard the stories.  :o  :o  :o

I have met Mr. Howard, he is one of the nicest people. I'm sure he knows what goes on, more than you might think he does. Esp in Colorado since he used to be the GM there. As far as Ms. Stack say what you want...it's probably true!!

I am sure he is a nice guy but that does not equate to good customer service and taking care of THE CUSTOMER.   Yes,  I have watched them raise the prices on everything to make that bottom line.  Yes, AAFES is finally making money.  And we meaning managers and hpps will get a bonus.  The hpp employees will get a 100.00 dollars.  I would like to know what the managers get????  Or better yet our GM and up the chain.

Doesn't matter. AAFES didn't "tax up" the bonus so everyone got hit with the highest tax bit for the award.

if everyone knew just how much money we were losing taking care of forward deployed military, no one would complain about the prices.  Hell, all those military folks shoplifting at those locations are killing us thousands of dollars a month, and that is only 20% or so of the losses.

My deployed friends tell me total losses are more like 50% because the cargo "lightens" between the time it arrives in the country and the time it gets to the exchange locations.

so that makes it a total of 70%?
also don't forget how local customs conveniently holds shippments....usually the ones with perishables that either are expired or damaged from the heat by the time they release it.
