20 Dollar Gift card Scam
« on: November 23, 2007, 03:07:28 PM »
I have small children and it is difficult for us to get out of the house early, AAFES needs to realize this and offer another option to those of us that have families.

I don't know what this message has to do with a $20 gift card scam.....but AAFES does have other ways for our customers to shop.  You can either sign up for the buddy list and have sales flyer's mailed either to your house or email a week in advance or you can shop at www.aafes.com
They have more variety of things that are not in store, always are offering new deals every week, no shipping or handling and you can get 10% off each purchase with your Military Star Card benefiting your MWR fund.

Dear noobie--the topic is mostly gone, but the person who started the thread is a troll who styled "herself" an AAFES employee.

The alleged scam was that "she" wanted the early bird gift card that was handed out to the people who came shopping at midnight. "She" didn't feel like going in at that time, but thought "she" should have gotten the card anyway. Hence, the "scam".

I wouldn't go as far as labeling me as a troll, but yes I am an AAFES employee and have been for a while.  I have worked around the holidays when we did our early bird specials and our midnight madness, at our Main Store and it is clearly stated in our sales flyer's the first twenty people in line will receive a twenty dollar gift card and that you must be present.....how is that a scam?!

You missed the drama involved in the rest of this thread. Someone purporting to be an AAFES employee posted a rant about how "she" should have gotten a gift card even though "she" didn't go out for the sale. "She" also claimed that "she" got one later because "she" went on a rant at a manager.

Turned out to be a troll who was posting to stir up stuff.

No scam here... Move along...
