LN Employees get the short end of the stick
« on: November 15, 2007, 03:57:41 AM »
LN employees in Germany have received a bad name here. These people are highly dedicated and hard working and well worth every Euro they receive. Unlike the American workers, they do not get free lunches for their kids at school, 39 cent a litre gas, cost of living allowance, Vat forms, commissary shopping, free housing , free electricity, free clothes at the thrift shop. The Americans get all this and moore pumped in the rear ends every month and still complain. It´s easy for Americans to blame their depression on the foreigners that they work with, but in reality, they should just take another prozac. :-[  and get on with it.

I guess you reap what you sow. Most of the LN's I know are lazy and hide behind the works counsel so they don't have to work a normal shift while the American has most of the late nights and weekend shifts.  If the dollar and euro were one to one then the LN's are still are not worth the price we pay to have them sit around on coffee break.  LN's, due to the fact they work for the US should be paid in $.  Why do the Americans get free lunch at school?  Because the LN's eat up so much profit that AAFES, MWR and the US can not afford to to pay a decient wage to US employees! 39 cent liter gas, what planet are you on. Go to customer service and have a look at the price tag. Vat Forms.. Why should I pay you over inflated 19% tax when I already pay US tax??? Yes, as a benifit of freeing germany from occupation a long time ago we get free housing and electricity, but not paid for by you. When was the last time you were at the thrift shop? There is Nothing there for Free. Yes we can get USED cloths for a portion of the price. But the germans have the same option in almost every german town.
You  don't like you job? Turn in your installation pass and leave. I am tired of you getting tax free stuff anyway. A quick meal at the food court, a buddy getting a dvd for you, a ride in a tax free car, going to the movies, getting you buddy to go to the commissary for you...you know, you have done it.

Just remember that when we leave, so do you... so quite crying, go work a little harder than the American sitting next to you because you are getting paid at least 50% more for doing the same job. You even get vacation time..

:D :D :D :D :D If I ever did get something from someone, it was cause they begged me to give it to me. That´s right, your american "supperiour thinking" is a bit flawed, at first you offer, offer and offer again to give somebody somethin and then when you feel like it later you try to take it back. You fools will always be the same. I lived around you guys along time and it is always the same story. Well guess what... I got three houses now, paid for by you amis and when you do leave K-town so will I. I got two kids to my American ex and they got american passports. I may retire in Virginia if I feel like it, so you guys need to get your act together over there so i can be comfortable when I do arrive in ami land. You guys are pigs too ecspecially when you come to the shoppette drunk and try to by gas. I have reported many of you to the SPs ;)

The LN employees that ride the sick slip system is what gives LNs a bad name. I worked at a main exchange and in 10 months, the LNs had taken the equivelent of 7.5 years of sick time combined in that time. This sick time was paid by AAFES. That is sad. On the American payroll, you have to earn your sick time, or you do not get paid. Where is the fairness in that? No one would get away with that working at REAL.

The perks as you described that Americans get is rubbish. Where do you get your facts from?

I cannot believe that you bash Americans the way you do and work with them. And you wonder why LNs have a bad name?

First, if you are a local national, I highly doubt that you are German. With the board name you have chosen, it does not appear that way, and your poor command of the English language also reflects this.

There is no pride to be shown here for you. You, or your parents, have most likely come to Germany to reap the benefits of social services from a proud and hard working people. Germany, because of the creation of the EU, has unfortunately suffered greatly. A once strong economy, now faltering, overtaxed and overburdened by those it offered opportunities to from other countries.

I for one, don't fault the local nationals for the pay and benefits they receive. I can't imagine, having the tax burden that they live with on a typical AAFES salary that is paid to Americans.

Personally, I think most of your post is "trolling" and trying to get heated responses from the board members. Get a clue. That is not the purpose of this board, and if you are here to bait people, you may get a few takers, but for the most part the members here won't bite.

We are proud of our country. Despite your negative comments, trying to bait us into arguments over foreign conflicts etc etc. we will remain proud. We stand for what we believe in, often despite negative criticism from the world, personal and national sacrifices that must be made, and yes loss of lives. We still stand. We stand proud, we stand strong and we will ALWAYS be the one to stand and hold the line against those who wish to keep others downtrodden. You can bait us, you can burn our flag, you can nitpick to your hearts content. You will not take the one thing we have ingrained in us away. We will NEVER be ashamed of who we are or what we stand for.

"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

;D  Oh boy, the god bless america tour..........  Is that the best you could bring :-*

It is so obvious who you are :) :) :)

How long have you two been married???  I guess I´ll just agree to disagree with you.

I´m still gonna keep my opinion and we will see who finishes better in about 20 years, okay?

You can go on your crusade to save the world, but you gonna see...... you are a stupid.

I cannot waiting to see what great quote you gonna send next time. im not looking for fights here, just pointing out the fact that the amis get everything driven up their asses every month and complain constantaly abvout the LNs. If we got somethin it was because we earned it the old way, not because of the ID card.

Take care and do not be a stranger, I´m gonna laugh when I see you again.

Oh, then you will love this quote, as you are so ill informed and biased that your posts really don't deserve a response. In actuality, you are a great discredit to your fellow LN employees.

Ntheno... He's right, your english sucks.
LNs need to either get paid in the same currency as the US employees, as to stop being a burden on our US economy, with the dollar tanking... OR they need to stop bitching and go get a job that relies on THEIR OWN LOCAL economy that they pay their property and other taxes too. Can't have it both ways... oh, wait- you apparently are... You pay your German (or whatever) taxes to get benfits from your country... apparently we pay our taxes to pay your benefits on OUR post, so you can get both kinds of pluses. Kinda sucks- and I doubt you will find much sympathy here.

You got that right, Freud!

The LNs get first refusal for any of the decent jobs. They also get preferential treatment on shifts/days scheduled and more leave time allowances than the Americans with more system seniority.

Which brings up another question--if you work in a shoppette, then you should know that all the stuff you have been demanding is not possible. The bragging about getting a gift card after complaining so much is definitely a way to get your sad azz fired. You might have gotten a card, but you will probably get the sack, too--if any of your BS rants are true.

Despite your alleged American citizen children (who, if born in Germany, also are EU citizens), you can be banned from the base for being such a beotch. Oh, well. Carry on with your trolling. I am sure there will be many who will take you to task for each stupidity you post.  :P

Why not have each store list the sick time taken by LN, and compare how that matches local holidays?

Yeah, why not? ...I mean, back in England, I worked with a select few Brits that took a lot of "sick" and "stress" leave around the holidays... the MoD must be awesome! There was this one time a couple years back (I'm guessing July of 06), where this one dude (who was already notorious for missing a lot of work), that went on "stress leave", and I sh!t you not... this dude was gone for a LOOOONG-a$$ time. He left in [I think] July of 06, I got deployed in Aug of 06, came back in Jan 07, and go on leave for a month and 1/2 right after, came back in mid-Mar 07... and the dude was STILL gone! I don't think he came back until about late-Apr/early-May-ish timeframe.Sure they all took leave around the holidays, and other random parts of the year here-n-there, but that was the most ridiculous chunk of leave EVER taken... unless anyone's got somethin that tops that... I mean, that guy covered all but 2 holidays of the year, both US AND British.
